The case of the big TV and the big people

Refer here for history.

When the TV arrived, it was like WHOA!!! Suddenly the living room shrunk into a tissue box and there was this BIG, BLACK, RECTANGLE MONSTER in my mother’s living room. Tee had wanted so badly to see them install it but she fell asleep before it arrived. Just as well or I’d have had to deal with a screaming, frightened mouse.

Two weeks down the road, my mother accidentally presses the wrong button and the TV goes all fuzzy. Then she starts pressing more buttons and the poor TV’s life deteriorates from there on. She calls my brother at the office in haste for an SOS TV resuscitation. He tries helping but there is only so much you can do when your mother does not have a clue (and can’t see due to eyesight problems from age) where the AV button is or the OK button or the Video button or……..anything for that matter.

My mother, when she freaks, she freaks. Her brain goes into jammed mode. Nuff said. My brother told her gently, “Wait till Tok-Tok gets home, Ma. I can’t help without seeing the TV.”

So she sits and waits impatiently till 5pm when the 63 year old TV Lord arrives home after golf. The one who is partially deaf due to age and gets crippled without Discovery. He changes into his sarong and starts more button pressing.

After five minutes of random button pressing, the remote is flung away as the old foggies are forced to resort to other forms of entertainment.

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
