Without a Nanny, I usually decline all forms of invitations to these type of events. But last week, I had to show face because I was ‘supposedly’ part of the organising committee, a useless non-contributor. It was the least I could do. To attend. And I had to attend with Tee. She was the youngest and only toddler there. Who in the world would bring a toddler to a charity auction cum launch of a high end residential condo? Just imagine, you’re sitting on a long table with crystal glasses and polished silver, talking uppity English whilst distinguishing the flavours of fine dining, when your toddler reminds you why you should never, ever bring one to such events.

If it wasn’t for her beloved Aunty Twina who helped downplay my girl’s animated presence, I would have dissembled one of those Chanel carrying ladies without children and made it known that I had no idea why this little pest had an affinity towards my diamond earings.

Thankfully, we managed to sneak out early and got some nice photos, since we were all dressed up.

But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
