Last night, I informed Tee that Daddy was finally returning tomorrow. She has been really good this time round about Daddy being abroad with the last trip seeing her wail every single night for the father figure who showers her with kisses and all things nice. This trip only saw her proudly announce that her Daddy was in Bahwain (sometimes she said Austwaiylia) whenever asked, where her Daddy was. And then she adds, My Daddy is working vewy hard in Bahwain. That’s his job.
She did ask me randomly one day for Uncle Lou’s number. Uncle Lou is Daddy’s Boss. I was shocked and curious why she wanted Uncle Lou’s number (we don’t see him very often at all) but when queried, she said she wanted to give Uncle Lou a call to tell him to send her daddy back! So the girl understands that Daddy answers to Uncle Lou.
Today, whilst on a mad scurry to work (we were ONE HOUR LATE FOR SCHOOL), I mumbled to myself in the car, Shit. I need a BIG cup of coffee. It’s been one helluva killer weekend, folks. And the chillies and curries over the weekend didn’t help things. And why is it everytime I mumble to myself, the little eavesdropper behind MUST respond. Why can’t she just mind her own business and look outside the window at the……at the…….other cars?
“I think you need a bathtub of coffee, Mummy.” said my future analogist.
“Let’s not talk now, okay. Mummy doesn’t like to talk in the mornings.”
“How about a Teh Tawik? I can make you a teh tawik??”
I ignored her. And then mumbled to myself again *I deserve a slap for this habit*.
Why don’t you just MOVE IT?! I mumbled agitatedly at the truck ahead whilst stepping the brakes.
“Who are you talking to, Mummy?”
“Mummy is annoyed at truck in front. We’re late for school and he is SO SLOW.”
“Mummy, the twuck is vewy big. That’s why it can’t move fast. Look at the wheels! It’s wayly big, Mummy! So the twuck can’t move fast.”
It is amazing how often I am stoned by my own daughter’s remarks.
