I have a sore BUM!

Only the left cheek though today……

Yesterday, I drove myself again to the hospital to get my second jab but not without first making a pit stop at TMC where they treated me like ROYALTY. They brought out the stool, chose the most wonderful packet of durian for me and offered me gloves, tissues and gave me a 50% discount despite the fact that they had just started business for the day. My wonderful durian friends, those guys are.

Hey, I do their Public Relations for them, OK? All passer-bys would smile at this large pregnant lady walloping her durians and ask me if they were really that good.

Once my fix was satisfied, I headed off nervously to see Darth Vader, the nurse who would be injecting me, to whom I pleaded and begged, if she could today slant the needle even at a lower angle so the insertion would be less painful. She was as gentle as peach, bless her heart, but it still F*#@ING HURT!!!

She apologised and said there was no running away from this painful injection as it is what it is – a bloody painful injection that is steroids injected into the muscles.

Naturally, I lay numb from pain for at least 5 minutes on the bed because I just could not move. When I finally got off, I was again hobbling very slowly……very, very slowly. There was no way I could rush to pick Tee up so the Hubs had to come in from town again to get his daughter from school and send her for her piano lessons. In the meantime, I rested in Starbucks (damn that place, but there is nowhere else in the hospital for me to go) for an hour before the pain subsided. Actually, the pain has remained until today but it is much less now. My right butt is fine though 🙂

The Starbucks staff were kind enough to help me to my table and carried my tray for me (without me asking, they offered). When I left, I bought some Baskin Robbins for Tee and headed to her music school when I realised that my inner right thigh was cramping! Oh God! It was so painful that I had to stop and hold onto the the hospital dado rail for support. I kept kicking my leg, took a few slow steps, then the pain would come back. It was a nightmare getting to the parking lot and took bloody forever!

Then when I got to the parking lot, mother of horrors, two assholes had parked SO close to my car on both sides that my large body could not fit into my own car! WTF! Here, I was having severe cramps on my inner right thigh, could barely lift my legs to get into the car and now I couldn’t even squeeze my body in. I tried all doors and finally found the back door which could open the widest (which was only maybe an inch wider, mind you) and tried to squeeze the poor baby in. I tucked my ALREADY PAINFUL SORE BUM in as hard as I could, and just SQUASHED my belly into the car as slowly as possible. And when I was finally in, I had to sit and rest for awhile before making my next adventurous climb into the front.

I was cursing and cursing and cursing.

But I finally made it to Tee’s piano class and seeing her happy face when presented ice cream made everything OK again.

Today, I shall be braving the malls in search for some nappies and maternity pads and whatever else I need 🙂 Because it dawned on me that shit, it could be anytime now. Plus all of last night, I was having menstrual cramps which went this morning and then comes off and on.
