Tee’s weekly school report

Tee’s Designation for the Week – Little Explorer (To be creative, imaginative and constantly generating new ideas) The school designates a role for each child to practice every week. For example, Tee was Super Listener last week to improve her listening skills and another week, she was the Little Helper, to improve her team work and so on……

Tee’s EmotionsHappy because she went to Cameron Highlands and bought lots of strawberries, because Mommy is picking her up today to have lunch with her friend and because she had finished reading her red bunny book and could start reading the orange bunny. I have no idea what books she is reading at school but I’ve noted that since the start of school in January, her emotions have always, always been happy.

Literary / Grammar / Phonics –

Objective: ‘Our day out at Eden’ project – Tee was able to work well in a group with 2 of her friends which required them to recount the trip and plan a trip of their own.

Objective: Magic ‘E’ in place of ‘I’ – Tee was able to understand the concept of ‘I’ and the magic ‘E’

Objective: Completing sentences – Tee was able to complete the entire worksheet independently.

Math –

Objective: Combinations of Addition – Tee was able to capture the combinations very quickly

Objective: Reverse Numbers – Tee was able to understand the reverse combinations.

Objective: Single Digit Subtraction – Tee was very proficient with this subtraction worksheet.

Bahasa Malaysia –

Objective: Recognise numbers in Bahasa – Tee could recognise the numbers

Objective: Complete Sentences – Tee could complete the suku kata on her own.

Brain Exercises –

Objective: Sequencing of events of nine pictures – Tee scanned through the 9 pictures and was able to place them in sequence very smoothly.

Objective: Pairing – Tee was very sharp with the pairing of animals.

Puppet Theatre –

Objective: Tidying Up – Tee was able to recognise the importance of having to tidy up after play. She helped to pick up the ‘props’ after the puppet theatre.

Storytime / Role Play –

Objective: Naughty Children – Tee was very attentive and able to depict the roles of good and naughty children. She was also able to offer suggestions to divert such behaviour.

Teacher’s Other Comments –

For Creativity Week, we discussed the story of the Gingerbread Man. Tee then participated in a role-play where she was given a mask and acted out a character from the story. She volunteered to play the Gingerbread Man. Tee converses very well but her written work is a little careless at times. She confesses that she sometimes mixes up her ‘b’s and ‘d’s. We will guide her to proof-read before passing up her work. Tee takes a keen interest in forming words, be it in Bahasa Malaysia or English grammar.

I think this is the greatest preschool in KL. Which preschool will write such a detailed report for your child for each week of progress? I paid almost three times the same fees here at Tee’s old school and it didn’t come close. It’s a shame she will have to leave for big school next year and will probably be bored out of her wits.

  1. I have to agree with you, it is a wonderful preschool / teacher that she has!

It takes a conscientious and observant teacher who will write such a precise report on a preschooler.

You have definitely found a great school to send Tee!

  2. Wow…fantastic report. If you don’t mind, can I know which pre-school is this and how much do/did you pay. It is so unfortunate, JB is so ‘ulu’
