After weeks of bugging us to play RISK with her, the Hubs finally relented. What does a little girl know about RISK? I used to be a RISK fanatic when I was in my teens for a good 10 years playing till the wee hours of the morning in all spots of KL and now suddenly, Tee has gone RISK crazy.
I think she likes the little soldier figurines. Just like her Mama……I used to play with toy soldiers, remember those little green army soldiers? Loved it.
We taught her how to play RISK as simply as we could. But you know, RISK is a really long game and no 4 year old’s attention span can last that long, so this game has been lasting days. That’s OK.
The important thing is she has loads of fun! She almost makes her own rules up. Like when you’re only allowed to deploy your soldiers across the border by one step, Tee will make her soldiers fly across oceans without any strategy whatsoever.
She loves throwing the dice to beat her Daddy. And she almost wills it to happen. It’s like she has a ghost helping her because she will shout out with her eyes closed, “Three sixes!! Three sixes!! Three sixes!!! Give me Three Sixes!!!” And what do you know? Three sixes appear. It’s scary. And she thinks God is helping her. She now also believes that if she says she CAN do it, then she really CAN. I love that.
I remember my mother loving this game too so I’m going to organise a family game soon. It will be so fun playing it with the family together as great memories are what binds a family.
RISK is a war game of strategy, wit and intelligence. That must be why my mother loves it.

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
