Today, I pray for the ones who are hurting who never see light. Today, I pray for the ones who are broken who never piece back. Today, I pray for the ones who have lost and cannot seem to get back onto their feet. What does it take for people to make right? To have that one chance again to get back into society? Perhaps it never comes because the actions deny the result?
I am a lucky girl. I have been so lucky that sometimes I don’t feel deserving but actually, I am. After almost 50 years of taking hits from people, I am now tougher and shrewder, definitely smarter and wiser. I no longer wish to be someone else’s pawn. Please go find someone else to help you. My office is tentatively closed for holiday till further notice.
The world is too hurt with broken people but I can no longer save them. I have been doing this work for 30 years. It is time to pass the baton on to others. Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t. Sometimes when you give, people take for granted and accuse you for something else. When you are nice, you get accused of having an agenda. You just cannot win. There are hundreds who have felt and seen me for who I truly am. What do they think I wonder? Does it even matter? Of course not. Because the one truth that I live by is that God is always watching and HIM, I fear. My family’s lives are at his disposal. So yes, I live by HIS rules.
What about you? Do you pass judgement easily? Are you a moaner and a complainer? Do you love talking ill about other people? Are you a taker? An opportunist? Sometimes, I feel that people who have not been underground before, I’m not even saying rock bottom, just haven’t a clue of what some go through. Just because everything is hunky dory does not mean someone hasn’t died before. I guess the bottom line is that we are just not thinkers in a modern world of technology and lack human interaction. I choose to believe that there are good people out there and one little ripple is all it takes sometimes.
