For the longest time, it is said that in order to get people to relate to you best, you need to show off your vulnerabilities. You need to be real and show the world your weaknesses and be vulnerable so they can relate. Makes sense?
I have been struggling with this for months. My life is good and I rarely ever have any down days to the point I considered making up a sad story just so I can fit in with everyone else since everyone else is showing off their vulnerabilities!
But I suck at being inauthentic and am the worst liar because I can never remember what I have lied about so best thing is to just not lie. And if I were to be fake, people would tell a mile away seriously. I just cannot contain my black face if someone has ticked me off LOL. I will curse and swear at and to that person’s face.
But today. TODAY! I felt a dip. Immediately I checked my period dates and wondered if I was PMS-ing. No. My period had just ended. Oh, no. Was it the full moon then? I know that the full moon sometimes bring out weird moods in women but no, full moon this month is on the 19th. Why then was I feeling so emo?
Sigh. It’s people again. Ingratitude. People having zero clue of what I do for them. People not knowing how much I have sacrificed just to see them fly with zero benefit to myself. People who misunderstand me. People who spread rumours about me. People who bitch about me. I should be a pro by now judging from the number of times I have been through this top leadership cycle. But each time it happens, it still hurts. And I then contemplate if I should continue. If I should continue the mission, the fight to serve. Why? Why do I do this and then get stabbed over and over?
Because this is your purpose, the Hubs says. When people throw a knife, just dodge it and stop investing in that direction. But continue doing what you do best.
