I thought I’d enlighten you today with what I have to do 4 times everyday throughout the day.

The above is what I carry in my handbag everyday. It measures 5 x 4 inches.

And these are its contents. A battery operated blood sugar reading monitor, a tube of magnetic strips to collect the blood before being inserted into the monitor, a case of sterile needles and a pen gun to shoot the needle out.

Before any blood is drawn from my finger, I spend anywhere between 3 to 30 minutes having an adrenaline rush throughout my body because I am so excited about stabbing my finger with a needle. The truth is, needles make me faint.

The ordeal is over. I put the blood onto the magnetic strip and wait anxiously for my results.

Then I sink into a deep depression and cry.

Four times a day.
