This morning I arrived at my Mom’s place to the loudest screaming ever. My mother, who has cancer and is in pain everyday, goes livid whenever her helper lies to her; but despite being told more than a hundred times not to lie, she will still lie. *shakes head*

The Indonesian helper has been working here for 1 year but still is a stupid as rock. For a whole year, perhaps thirty times, if you tell her that singlets should only go in a certain drawer and towels in that particular cupboard, for some reason, she just can’t get it. She will STILL mix everything up. And despite buying her a notebook and making her write everything down so that she can refer if she forgets, she STILL gets everything mixed up.

This morning’s incident was about apples and chicken. During Christmas, my Mom had bought a bag of twenty apples and dumped it into the fridge. She was so busy that day that she instructed the maid to cut the strawberries and mix it with some apples. Of course, my Mom didn’t think that she was dumb enough to mix 2 packets of strawberries with 20 apples!!! *sigh*

When Mom saw that 20 apples had been peeled and cut, she let out a yelp, after which her maid blamed my aunty’s maid and my aunty’s maid denied everything. It was a case of 2 maids not admitting that either had cut all the apples.

Anyway, the cut apples went back into the fridge to be juiced later. My Mom forgets about the apples and so do the maids. We have told the maid time and time and again, that if there is anything in the fridge that is nearing it’s death, to highlight it to us so that we can do something about it. 1 week later, the cut apples are still in the fridge……..they just don’t care.

This morning, my Mom told the maid that she was roasting a chicken and whenever she roasts a chicken, to leave some fat in the chicken and not de-skin and remove all the fat from the chicken. The maid said she never took out any fat from the chicken. My Mom said she has been buying chicken from the market for more than 20 years and knows how the chicked comes when she buys it. It is a well known fact that this maid always de-skins and removes fat from all the chicken. My mom was not scolding her, just telling her that in future, to not remove fat when she is roasting the chicken and straight away the defense comes up.

This made my Mom really mad.

Then, she is supposed to clean the home up by 10am, it’s only 1,500 sf so she has more than enough time to do it but because she is so slow…….and lazy (she sleeps before us and gets up AFTER my Mom, can you believe it??), sometimes she gets lagged. And she has zero common sense whatsoever. If she to finish her cleaning by 10am, she has to finish her cleaning by 10am. It doesn’t matter if guests come and my Mom needs her to make coffee for them. She HAS to finish her cleaning by 10am.

I can totally understand why my Mom has to scream at her because when she calls her to make coffee, she just continues to do her cleaning…..*faint*

Oh……there is so much more. I have personally given up on her myself.

Did I tell you about the time she put my curtains (together with curtain HOOKS) into the laundry??? What about the time she screwed up the car alarm? Or the time she got herself locked inside an elevator and started screaming blue murder because she was so scared?
