When we have our first wafts of love at the post-pubescent age of 14, we are all so sure that HE is IT/ or she is it (for any male readers out there). SO sure. Cock sure. This is THE guy I am walking down the aisle with. First love. The one you never forget. Remember???
Alas, someone grows faster than the other and the first love turns into sour pain. Oh, such pain!!! And you swear never to love again…….There are some fortunate few that make it from first love to the end but they are very few and far between……
Then, as maturity sets in, we experiment a little in our hunt for Mr Right on the roller coaster adventure of love. And decide later who needs men!??!! We could be single forever and still be OKAY!!!
Then BANG.
He got you. There isn’t even an OUNCE of doubt that this is it. And this is after years of experience. This is really it. You blend together like chalk and cheese. You complete each other like nobody else could. You miss one another that it aches so much to be apart. You know what the other is thinking, even if you’re as different as the North Pole and the Equator. You have complete trust in one another. You can even make decisions for each other independently of each other correctly.
Somehow, you just connect……..at all levels. Your family loves him. Your friends love him. And most of all, you love him. This really is it.
So what happens then when after twenty years with Mr Right, things go awry and divorce sets in? Well, obviously, you made a wrong call. Either you didn’t want to face the truth, you didn’t want to see things you were supposed to see or you or your partner changed. This happens. People change. It’s a fact of life.
So as right as Mr Right is at that very moment, just bear in mind that he may not be Mr Right forever……..
And if you’re not 500% sure that he is Mr Right, then don’t even wish that things will change and get better one day. Because it won’t. If he really is the right one, you will know. You just will know. If you even have to ask, but how will I know? Then he is not the right one……because really, you will know.
Remember people, never……ever……..settle……for any less than what you deserve.
