I love Hollywood flicks as much as I love the deeper British productions because I love analysing creativity. Taking apart entire finished products and criticising them is what I was taught to do at University.

Quantum of Solace

The music at the beginning was already weak and that put me off – not catchy, not zany, not original; it didn’t do anything for me. For a James Bond film, the least they could do was make an effort. Maybe the really talented musicians in Hollywood wanted too much fees, or were all booked up.

The imagery of the introduction completely disappointed me. Sand and body sculptures? C’mon……I’ve seen that all before. Been there, done that.

I wasn’t hoping much then for the movie after that. Every James Bond movie should be better than the last. The music and the imagery, let alone the script, should tie in with the James Bond culture BUT it should keep up with the times and remain cutting edge! The film was so safe that no boundaries were broken and I really found it very stale.

I didn’t like the violence, just as I feel that Hollywood and all films should really stop filming violence. Where do people get their violent ideas from? I’m just saying that violent films are definitely a precursor spark for some. Urgh…..too violent.

I think Daniel Craig is a brilliant actor, so is Judi Dench and gang. Daniel has the height, the look and the talent, but something about the way he walks, just makes him so not James Bond. James Bond has a suave walk. Daniel’s walk is more a bounce. Look closely and observe it. Since he is to do a few more James Bond movies, I really think he should work on his walk to make himself the most perfect James Bond.

Storyline? *yawn*

Perhaps I should go into scriptwriting………James Bond never went, “The name is Bond. James Bond.” C’mon, that is a classic James Bond line!!! And in this entire film, I don’t remember any smart ass quips coming from anyone. That is my absolute favourite part in any James Bond films. Do you remember an old James Bond film where when Moneypenny said “You always were a cunning linguist, James.”???? I cracked up so hard then.

So ladies, do you ever dream of being the one that Bond truly falls in love with?
