I had the honour of meeting Mew recently and I must say, I love this woman. She had invited us to watch her student’s perform recently at the new Creative Kids Centre in Taman Tun and I thought it was the most passionate dance performance that I’d ever watched live!

And thanks for introducing us to that cool new building, Mew! It is where the new Actor’s Studio is going to be, I think.

So back to Mew, already during the performances, T1 asked if she could take dance lessons from this lady. My two girls, they love dancing and shaking their booties (who doesn’t?) but after hearing Mew emcee and talk, and watching her students dance like nobody was watching, T1 was sold. It was her idealogy, her gentleness, her spirit, her desire to allow her dancers to soar by themselves…..that made her so special. Even T2, immediately as we exited the theatre, she started dancing under the grand staircase shaking her tiny little bootie.

And even my Hubs, who is totally NOT into dance of any sort, enjoyed watching the children dance because the confidence and energy that came from them, man……it totally rocked and engaged the audience. There was a 3 year old performing solo, a 5 year old performing solo, an 8 year old performing solo……

Could you do it? Can I do it? No way.

I loved it. I loved the energy that came out of those little girls there dancing solo that evening. Awesome stuff. And only a fantastic dance mentor can bring that out of you. I was once an amateur back stage dancer. I know.

If your children show an interest in dance, Mew is the person to go to.
