Ever since I started doing this Myanmar kids thing, I’ve been judged for all sorts of crazy reasons. Man, people really have so much time. They ask me, why Myanmar? Why all of a sudden? Why now? Why at such a big scale? Fuck!!!
Do I need to explain it to any of you why I do what I do? Hell, no!
But seriously, it is extremely simple:
Why Myanmar – why not?
I have always supported the charities locally in KL and once further in East Malaysia where they really are a lot poorer than the kids in KL but when I went to Yangon, shit, they are REALLY poor. And it’s a personal decision. When I ask the orphans in KL what they wanted for Christmas, they all said Game Boy, Nintendo DS, etc etc etc. Honestly, I was turned off. I truly was. In Yangon, before I even had a chance to ask the kids what they wanted, they just gave and continued giving. It was a world of difference. It made me feel that Malaysia was a country of demands and righteousness. Just look around you, how many people think they deserve more? In Myanmar, they just smiled, were happy with so little and just kept giving…….
Now who can compete with that? I was sold and so was my girl.
Why all of a sudden?
Perhaps to you it’s all of a sudden. But I’ve been working with orphans (and handicapped children) non-stop since the age of 15. It’s just that now I’ve spread my wings, gone abroad and have the capacity to do more. Much, much more. So it’s really not all of a sudden. I just never asked for your help then hence you never knew.
Why Now?
How can I answer that question? There is a time and a place for everything and because Lynette brought me to Myanmar last November, my crusade began. I do not know why God chose me now and not earlier and not later? Who gives a shit when anyway?!
Why at such a big scale?
My God! So I can become bloody famous, that’s why! Why do you think?!
I met this girl. Her name is Eileen and she has such an amazingly big heart that I was embarrassed to be associated with her at all. Then I met the Children of Myanmar and never before have I felt the way I felt and cared so much for anything because being there in that very moment, taught me some of life’s greatest lessons. Who would care, seriously? I’ve lived 40 years of my life happily doing whatever I please and donating to charity here and there but nothing prepared me for the commitment that my heart was tugged out to do. There was no 2 ways about it. It just had to be done. So I do it.
I hate it when people say I am so kind and I’m doing some amazing things. Honestly, I am still who I am. And if you were there and had the same experiences I did, you would be doing what I’m doing instead. We’re organising this Kids for Kids event on Sunday 7 April. There’s only 3 of us girls doing it and so much coordination and sourcing involved. Yet, I know it’s going to be awesome! We have worked so hard on it and never even expected it to grow to such a big scale. And you know what? I want none of that glory. I don’t want my name on the children’s certificates or trophies. I don’t want my name in the media. I don’t want any of the fame. I just want to feed the children of Myanmar, give them a decent enough life, comfortable at the very minimum and teach them to support themselves. That is Eileen’s dream. She threw the stone. I am but one part of the water’s rippling in making a difference…..
I don’t project my choices upon you but I really have moved to a different place since last year. Some people get it. Some don’t. That’s not my problem.

**************************************************************************Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.
Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
A beautiful life without limits.
If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.
Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.
Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.
