Food in Yangon was nothing like any crap Burmese food I’ve tasted in Malaysia. It is actually very, very delicious if you know where to go!!! I would say it’s like Thai food but a milder version, almost a fusion between Thai and Chinese if you like.
Below here is a fresh squid dish with chilli padi and herbs. OMG. Orgasmic. And I’m usually not a fan of squid but the squid was so fresh and the flavours were so fragrant, I couldn’t have enough of it.

This century eggs dish is very, very popular in Myanmar and they have it almost everywhere. It is really, really good. Oh, I miss Yangon already! They actually have a lot more traditional dishes but because I didn’t eat them will not post them.

Check out the sizes of their watermelons and avocados??? Double the size for half the price. Just for scale purposes, the avocados below were double the size of my two fists put together.

And apart from many coffee shop type eateries, they also have the few fancy restaurants and ice-cream parlours such as this below, which we visited every night because of T1. OK, OK, it was for my own cravings….
2 more months and I’ll be back to savour yummy Myanmar delights.
