Last month, I contemplated organising a baby shower for a friend who so deserved a grand baby shower but due to my own crazy schedule, I had to grit my teeth and gave it a miss. I consoled myself by saying I will make it up to her somehow when the time is right. I am a terrible friend, aren’t I? People who really know me know what kind of a lousy friend I am and that is why despite seeing my maid of honour only once every year (if at all!), she knows that if she called me at 4am in the morning and asked me to go over, I would. That is why she would do something illegal for me. That is why our kids have an unspoken bond. That is why even when she owes me money, I know it is because she has truly forgotten. We’re lousy friends, we admit it. But we love each other so who cares about buying baby shower gifts???
What I’ve learnt is that in friendship, one friend could give another all the material goods in the world and not get it reciprocated and yet, they can be the best of friends. For friendship is not about giving each other stuff or buying each other lunch. It isn’t. It’s nice if you do, but you really don’t have to. Do you agree? How do you view friendship? She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
