Teaching children simple manners is a neverending job. They forget and you remind and seriously, you just keep reminding. But there is light at the end of the tunnel because at some point, they WILL get it. Thus all efforts are worth it. Yes, even all the vomit blood efforts.
Lately, I have been drilling it into T1 to make the time to say hello to every individual by name. Of course, this started with the fact that we have been in the company of a lot of family thus a lot of names to remember! Even I have problems remembering everyones names! T1 does greet people but not only does it not come automatically, she hardly ever greets them by name (mostly though because she doesn’t know their names) but this only means she isn’t making any effort to GET TO KNOW their names……
So yeah. T1 must now greet every new person she sees by name. If she doesn’t know the name, she has to ask me failing which find out what the person’s name is. Once she has learnt this task (for me, this means greeting everyone and anyone without being prompted to do so), I will teach her to stand to greet someone. I was never taught such manners as a child thus whatever I know comes from pure observation but I do think that teaching children simple manners is important.

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
