Last weekend, Proton had organised an exclusive event for some couples to test drive Malaysia’s first national MPV, the Proton Exora, in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. The event saw the coming together of 3 experts who shared their expertise on various subjects in line with key features of the Exora in creating the perfect Malaysian MPV. Encik Mohamad Shukor Ibrahim, CEO of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd, said that families not only need a safe and comfortable vehicle but also lots of space to accommodate other items, and in the Exora, there is Safety, Performance, Advance Styling, Comfort and it’s Economical. SPACE!!!
First up was Puan Kartini Illias, a marriage and family therapist and child psychologist, who shared the importance of family safety. The issues raised were synonymous with the Exora’s security systems that are in place in protecting children. There is a driver unlock system whereby whenever a driver unlocks his door, the remaining doors still remain locked. There is also a speed lock system whereby all locks automatically lock when the car hits 20km/h and a beeping sound should any of the doors not be tightly shut as the car hits 7km/h. The Auto-Block function will be instantly blocked for 20 seconds should anyone play with the locks for 30 times. So if you have kids who like playing with car locks and handles, the Exora might be your dream car.
Next, Datin Sharifah Shawati gave some tips about image and how it promotes self-confidence by using a volunteer as her subject. Later, the participants had fun dressing up with a selection of clothes and accessories that were on display. Just like people having a good outer appearance, the Exora being a 7 seater MPV, doesn’t have a boxy appearance but instead is stylish and attractive from the outside with leather seats for comfort internally.
Participants got to drive blindfolded whilst their partners navigated them in parking to promote the issue of trust and comfort. What a challenge! In stressful situations, the last thing you want is to be uncomfortable! The Exora has twin air conditioning that is equipped in every seat and goes back to the second and third row to ensure maximum comfort in our local squelching heat and better still, spacious seating! You have to test drive it to believe it.
The gentleman above is Al Jazzura Khan, a financial expert, who explained the importance of family financial planning, saving methods and how to invest. The Exora promises reasonable maintenance costs that will not break the family bank despite its large size and benefits.
It was indeed very generous of Proton to organise such a fun day out for couples that weekend which included food, fun and learning to really embed the potential significance of the Malaysian MPV into our lives. Apart from blindfold parking and fun dress up session, there was also the slalom challenge, the piling the Exora up with stuff challenge and the performance test drive to feel first hand what the Lotus engine drives like. Yes, you heard right. The Exora is equipped with Lotus technology, in line with the active and fast lifestyle of every individual today in KL. It is with hope that the Exora will ease our lives making our daily routine a tad easier, if not tremendously more convenient!
