Last week, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a prestigious event organised by Citigold and Land Rover (of which both I don’t care about) but the one thing that got me EXCITED was that Malaysian Jazz Queen, Sheila Majid, was performing. Oh, yes!!!

You would think that the older she got, the less appealing she’d possibly become, but heck, the woman is as sharp as steel studs. I have so much respect for her after all that she has been through and where she is today. Her music brings back reminiscence of some beautiful nostalgia………..

Back to the event, it was full of old foggies because really, how many youngsters are interested in the Range Rover? Or can even afford one? If they could indeed afford one, they’d be getting slicker cars. We were greeted by this impressive display which I originally thought was a hologram light reflected thingy but it turned out to be a wire frame that was painted in fluorescent paint! Way cool.

We were seated with some very rich looking people and usually I’d make conversation but that evening, I really just couldn’t be bothered. I think it’s age. The older I become, the less I care about who’s who and the more I want to get to know the toilet cleaners. Weird. There they were in their most expensive clothes and jewelery decked around every inch of bare skin, seated poised and regal like. And there I was, intentionally smart casual, all out to have a good time!

Sheila Majid was AWESOME. I loved her. I love her. But her performance was too short. I guess Citigold/Land Rover couldn’t afford longer hours! Probably because most of the budget went into the food! Fine dining perfection. YUM. I wished my stomach could have held more…….

I left with a goody bag and to my absolute delight, was her latest CD; amongst lots of Land Rover brochures.

And when I opened the CD, I saw that Sheila Majid had autographed it. What a nice touch.

The event was hosted by the smart and savvy Elaine Daly, who looked absolutely stunning. Very elegant. She’s one celebrity who has a good head on her shoulders, and she graduated from T1’s school.

All in all, a lovely evening, short and sweet. And I still got breakfast served the next morning by my dearest Hubs! Am I a lucky girl?
